The Watchful Owl is a handmade wire owl sculpture, created from mixed silver, copper and black wire by Shropshire-based artist Luke Western.
 
Standing alert with those unmistakable round eyes, this little owl has plenty of character. Layers of loosely woven wire give the sculpture a light, sketch-like quality, almost like a drawing brought to life in three dimensions.
 
Each piece is handmade to order in Shropshire, so every owl will vary slightly in shape, stance and expression. These small differences are part of what makes each sculpture unique.
