When you purchase any item from our Birds of The Thames Path series, we are delighted to let you know that 20% of the profits will be donated to The National Trail. This donation will assist in the maintenance of these crucial areas, ensuring that they remain healthy and accessible for everyone to enjoy. EUROPEAN GOLDFINCH
 
The European Goldfinch is a stunning bird that can be found throughout the UK, often seen in gardens, parks and hedgerows. It has a distinctive red face, black and white head, and a bright yellow and black striped wing.
 
European Goldfinches are known for their beautiful and melodious song, often heard in the summer months. They feed on a variety of seeds, particularly thistle and teasel seeds, which they are able to extract using their specially adapted bills.
 
While European Goldfinches are not considered a threatened species, their populations have been impacted by changes in agricultural practices, particularly the loss of wildflower meadows and hedgerows. Conservation efforts are underway to protect this beautiful bird and its habitat.
